As you know one of Nieto Creative’s ethos (a fancy word for beliefs) is to learn and serve. In the spirit of that, we are going to put out a weekly roundup of articles, tech tools, books, etc. that we believe can help or encourage our fellow small business owners. Here is what we have for you this week.
Listens:
- Lewis Howes Podcast – Inspirational and diverse guests. I played the Kobe Bryant episode on the way home from picking my son up from high school and it really inspired him.
- EntreLeadership Podcast – I have been listening to this one for years. I will say I get a little tired of the phrase, “Let’s take a moment to unpack that.” Did they bring luggage to the interview?
- Building a StoryBrand with Donald Miller – Make sure you are crafting your messages so that your customers will hear you. This podcast gives practical advice on how to do that.
Reads:
- Social Media Management Hacks – Out of the 9 I believe the two most important is batching and using a post scheduling tool. This helps reduce the number of random posts since you no longer feel rushed to get something published.
- Profit First – This book was instrumental in getting our business finances in order. Take a look at our Profit First review then go out and buy it!
- Becoming a Brand: Here’s how to market your startup well before you launch. This article on Entrepreneur.com points out the obvious – the success of your startup is limited by the number of potential customers who know about it. We can help you with that (shameless plug).
- Mistakes, Failures and Problems – Short, sweet and true.
Tech Tools:
- Feedly – Love this service! With all the information out there it can be hard to curate it down into one location. If you struggle with that too, check it out.
- Trello – Harry and I just finished our Q4 Marketing Planning session (more to come on that next week) and we used Trello to develop our Content Creation Calendar. If you need help getting that set up give us a call.
- Goodnotes – If you are an iPad Pro user and use your Apple Pencil this is the app for you. I live in this app.
